best weight loss plan is blood group diet

It happens to most of us that despite eating low carbs and following the best weight loss plan, we still end up gaining more weight. Inspite of following the strict diet regime, scales tend to scare us. But have you wondered why does this happen? Well, the answer to this lies in your Blood Group
Don’t be surprised because the truth was debunked long ago by a naturopathic physician Peter D’Adamo. Infact, later through his book he also described how people could be living healthier, longer, and achieve their ideal weight by eating according to their blood type. His research is based on simple fact that the diet that works well for blood group 'A' may not work well for blood group 'O' for a simple reason that your body’s response to food is directly linked to your blood type. Besides, different blood groups have different strengths and weaknesses which cannot be ignored.

Each blood type has its own guidelines about the foods they should eat and the foods they should avoid. The diet claims to help people lose weight, improve digestive health, and boost overall well-being.
So, stop following those fad diets or the best weight loss plan and get rid of excess weight by making some food and lifestyle modifications.

Let’s tabulate the kind of Foods that have been listed for Each Blood Group:

👉 Blood Group O

Evolution: People with this blood type are said to be descendants of hunters and may better metabolize animal products. It’s also a low-carb diet, eliminating many grains and fruits, but allows full-fat dairy in moderation.

Good Foods:
  • Follow a High-Protein diet, which includes Lean Meats, Fish, etc.
  • Besides Meat, you should consume Fruits and Vegetables to reduce the consumption of carbohydrates to a minimum.
  • Vegetarians can consume Soya Nuggets or Tofu but this also means that you're always hungry and will snack on carbs, causing problems with blood sugar and metabolism. So, snack healthy with Chana Chaat, Lobia Chaat, etc.

Foods to Avoid:
  • Dairy products like Paneer, Cheese, Curd, Milk, etc. and carbohydrates like Potato, Rice, etc.

👉 Blood Group A

Evolution: This blood group evolved later than O when people farmed more than they hunted. So logically, A types need less protein and more grains. Therefore, they are in best form when on a vegetarian diet.
Good Foods:
  • Your body will respond well to foods such as wheat and wheat products like Roti, Bread, Pasta, Kulcha, Bakery products, Noodles, etc.
  • All nuts like Almonds, Walnuts, Cashewnuts, Groundnuts, etc., as well as Cereals, Lentils, and Seeds should be included in your diet.
  • All Fruits and green Vegetables are good for this blood group.
  • All kinds of Teas, especially Green Tea, is also recommended.
  • Small amount of Fish can be consumed.

Foods to Avoid:
  • Non-vegetarian food like Mutton, Chicken, etc. and Dairy Products are to be avoided.

👉 Blood Group B

Evolution: B types can have a wider variety of foods, but in moderation. If you are blood group B, you are blessed with a good digestive system.

Good Foods:
  • This group thrives on dairy products such as Milk, Curd, Paneer, etc. and such products are highly recommended in your daily diet plan. You should lead a very active life otherwise take Skimmed Milk Products and keep the Dairy Fat Low.
  • You can eat all Non-Vegetarian food except Chicken.
  • All Green Vegetables can be consumed. But consume Fruits that are Less Sugary.

Foods to Avoid:
  • All kinds of wheat products like roti, kulcha, bread, pasta, noodles, etc. and high glycaemic index foods like rice, biscuits, sooji, maida, etc.

👉 Blood Group AB

Evolution: This group is said to be more complicated than other blood group types as it combines some of the vulnerabilities of both type A and B blood groups.

Good Foods:
  • You should consume Tofu for protein intake.
  • Seafood is good for this group.
  • Green vegetables are healthy and can be consumed.
  • Most Fruits are advisable, especially Pineapple and Grapefruits.
  • Olive oil is most suitable.

Foods to Avoid:
  • You should cut down on Dairy Products.
  • Meats to be avoided include Red Meat, Chicken, and Pork. You should limit your wheat intake and consume alternatives like Rye, Rice, Oats, etc.
  • Although most fruits are healthy for this blood type, you should restrict your intake of Mangoes, Oranges, Bananas, Guavas, etc.
  • Kidney Beans and Corn should be limited.
  • The oils to avoid are Sesame and Sunflower oil.

Does it Make Any Sense?

Unlike the best weightloss plan that you follow, the theory behind blood group diet is that each blood type has its own ability to digest certain types of foods, which is what aids in better digestion, thereby helping to maintain ideal body weight, increase energy levels, and prevent disease, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.
As stated above, type O was said to be the original “ancestral” blood type who were hunter-gatherers and their diets were high in animal protein. Group A was said to evolve when humans began to farm and had more vegetarian diets. Group B blood types were said to arise among nomadic tribes who consumed a lot of dairy products. And since Group AB blood was evolved from the intermingling of people with types A and B blood, type AB recommendations were intermediate between those for people with types A and B blood.
However, these theories have been challenged on several grounds such as there is evidence which states that type A was actually the first blood group to evolve in humans, and not type O. In addition, there is no proven connection between blood type and digestion.

What’s the Outcome

Despite lack of studies and shreds of evidence, many nutritionists and advocates of blood type diets still believe that it is an effective way of loosing weight. Besides, there’s also no proof that unlike other best weight loss plan or fas diets, the blood group diet has any side-effect. So, I believe you can definitely give it a try and make some food modifications based on your blood group until you come across the next fad diet. Also, make sure to exercise; be it aerobics, pilates, Zumba swimming, gymming or whatever form of exercise that suits you besides following blood group based food regime. Dieting can only help you loose weight but for overall good health, you need to strengthen your muscles and tone your body too.
